HOW TO RAISE UNSTOPPABLE CHILDREN – A LESSON FOR EVERY PARENT
The Trigger
We read the #Unstoppable21 list and feel amazed.
Children aged 5, 10, 15 are delivering TEDx talks, building robots, authoring books, creating change.
It feels extraordinary. But behind every “extraordinary” child… is often an extra-committed parent.
The Reality
Look closer, and you’ll find:
A parent who didn’t just clap from the sidelines but showed up in the grind.
- Registered the classes
- Sat through practices
- Rehearsed speeches
- Encouraged discipline
- Held them through failure
They weren’t just coaching for success, they were also mentoring for life.
My Reflection
We often celebrate the result.
But we forget the quiet sacrifices:
- Missed holidays
- Late nights
- Drained energy
- Career compromises
- Emotional investment
Why?
Because somewhere deep inside, that parent believed:
“My child is meant for more and I’m here to help them get there.”
The Lesson
You don’t need to raise a genius. But every child deserves two invisible platforms:
- Coaching – Skill, structure, feedback
- Mentoring – Values, mindset, resilience
So ask yourself, as a parent:
- Am I teaching effort or only chasing marks?
- Am I involved or just informed?
- Am I building their confidence or outsourcing it to the world?
Every child has a spark.
The question is: Are you willing to fuel it?
