Fear Factor & The 90 Second Rule

“Fear is a powerful force. It is the enemy of success, peace, joy and happiness. Fear of all kinds and sizes is a form of psychological infection. it roots form depth of despair, worry and stress in general. ”

Fear is such that it breaks down and destroys your will, your spirit and your passion. More people suffer in life because of fear rather than a disease or an inability.

Some people fail to make it big in spite of having great skills, why? They have good ideas but they don’t share them, they have questions in mind but they don’t ask them, they have answers but they don’t talk. That’s is because of Fear of Rejection. The fear that someone might laugh and belittle them. This stops them from growing and making progress.

In relationships we suffer because of fear. Complementing people or reprimanding them, expressing your love or disappointment towards them, standing up for your opinion saying – I am sorry, I was wrong, I love you or I miss you - are all very important but some people just cannot express themselves. Why? Because of fear of being over expressive. These fears keep people away from doing what is right to do.

When you take your awareness to a deeper level you will realize that fear exist only in our minds. The fact is that with some efforts, the right tools and techniques and consistent practice we can overcome our fears.

Try The 90 Second Rule:

  1. Become aware of what’s happening, Stop – Slow Down – Acknowledge It. Say ‘yes, I am experiencing fear’.
  2. Take a moment to introspect. Embrace your fears, allowing 90 SECONDS to fully feel and understand them. Notice their impact on your mind and body as your awareness deepens. Amidst this, chemical responses unfold, until all that lingers after 90 seconds are your thoughts.
  3. At this point, deliberately calm your thoughts and tell yourself ‘I will handle it’
  4. Smile and substitute pessimism with empowerment. Cultivate this mindset fervently.
  5. TAKE ACTIONS! because action cures fear faster than anything else. Start doing things now instead of postponing them.

And soon you will be able to overcome your fear – FEAR which is False Evidence Appearing Real.
